PoH Definition - What Does Chemistry Really Mean?
PoH Definition - What Does Chemistry Really Mean? There are several simple definitions of chemistry, one of which includes a brief account of the chemical process. The term 'chemistry' is often used to refer to the study of chemical reactions. In this article we will define chemistry and give some examples of what it means. The basic process of chemistry is the collection of matter or the things that is capable of being chemically modified by chemical interaction. If we take the molecular arrangement of atoms in a substance as an example, we will be able to define how the molecule moves and becomes changed. The arrangement of atoms is fixed by an even number of atoms with electrons on both sides of the atom. The number of electrons in a particular atom is inversely proportional to the number of its neighbor. The direction of the electrons is dependent on the flow of electric field around the molecule that is commonly referred to as the electrochemical potential. The chemistry does not e nd here, the movement of atoms involves some movement of the atoms in the molecule by the creation of a chemical reaction which also involves some movement of atoms on a non-conductive surface. The movement can be caused by protons, neutrons or electrons. It is also known as the 'hydrogen bonding'.The chemical reactions can be initiated in the substance or the compounds that are formed or altered as a result of the reaction. These compounds are known as the constituents. In the natural elements the properties of a substance depend on their constituents. The properties of a compound are dependent on its constituents.Chemistry consists of two major branches; physical and chemical. Physical chemistry is the study of properties of solids and liquids and consists of a set of physical principles that describe and predict the behaviour of these substances and how they react. Chemical chemistry is also known as organic chemistry. The two branches have different theories and methods to expla in how and why a substance changes.A two simple definition of chemistry that you need to understand the course of the whole subject is this; atoms and molecules of different kinds get changing by some chemicals to create a new substance. This new substance is known as a compound.Molecules of different types are formed from one another to form compounds. The number of atoms in a molecule is known as the number of atoms. The number of atoms in a molecule is also known as the atomic number.Molecules of different types are known as ionic (which have no number) and covalent. The covalent type is usually found in liquids but can be found in solids as well. The covalent type of molecules consist of atoms that are joined together and are known as covalent bonds.
